I am very excited to
be your child’s teacher! I
know you or your child may have some apprehension about beginning a new school
year, but I can assure you I have a wonderful year planned! My goal is to create a warm and inviting
classroom where your child will grow to love learning.
I want to introduce myself. My name is Amy Gillespie. I married my high school sweetheart 19 years
ago, and we have four children: Andrew
is a senior in high school, Linnea is a sophomore, Emily is in eighth grade,
and Matthew is in fifth grade. They keep
me very busy, but I love being their mother!
We also have a friendly golden retriever named Hannah and a furry cat
named Megan. When I am not teaching or
learning about education, I like to read, play the piano, work in my garden or relax
with my family. When my family takes a
vacation, we like to find a quiet ocean beach and savor each moment. One of my favorite things to do is walk
barefoot on the sand, smell the ocean air, and look for seashells! J
This year will be
full of learning for your child. We will
work on reading, writing, spelling, math, science, and social studies. We will read oodles of exciting books and get
our little hands dirty with science and art.
I cannot wait for you to see all the wonderful things your child will
learn!
